OMM Section 3 Quiz

Some of the questions count more than other questions.  If we haven't talked about an idea, it doesn't count as much as the things we have talked about.

Go to this link, click to show all of them and then take the quiz.  When you are done, copy the WHOLE QUIZ (Questions and Answers) and paste it into a document that you share with me.

Wednesday Bell Ringer

You should be making progress in the book that you have chosen to independently read this quarter.  You should aim to have the book completed by Oct. 31, which means you may have to read a bit outside of class.  What I would like you to do for today's bell ringer is to post a comment to this post explaining a bit about your book.  You should give a quick summary of what the book is about (2-3 sentences), a little about the main character and what you like and don't like about that character, and then explain your favorite part of the book so far and why it is your favorite part.

Tuesday, Oct. 21 Agenda

•Bell Ringer: In writer’s notebook, write at least a paragraph on these questions: What does it mean to belong? How important is it for human beings to have a place where they belong, where there are people who know them and love them?
•Read your book while we wait for all to finish
•Discuss
•Am Dream Questions check while you write your WN entry –if you weren’t done when I first checked, bring them to me when you are
•Read Section 1 to page 11
•Add to Chronolog, and any examples of themes
•Finish Section 1
•Relationship of George and Lennie
•Discuss

•Pick either George or Lennie and in their voice, write a journal entry based on what has happened so far.  Write this in your Writer’s Notebook section –needs to be about ½ to ¾ of a page long.
