What book/poem/story is your partner reading?
Does the book sound like something you would like to read? Why yes or no?
What are some similarities between your two books?
What connections can you make between the human experience in your book and the human experience of the two and a half books we have read for class?

-Yes. I read one of them out of order, would like to read them all.
-Main character/narrator is a girl.
-Love, wrong and right, coming of age.
The Haunting of Alaizabel Cray
ReplyDeleteNo, I really would not read something about a witch hunter in search for a prostitute...
There are a lot of expectations that are needed within these too books
The four guys are secluded just like the Jews in Night

ReplyDeletethe gentlemen by michael northrop
yes i would read this book because it reminds me of our freshmen years
main character micheal tommy mixer and bones
the way these kids act and are
Unbroken
ReplyDeleteYes, it sounds like my book in a way, except for the main character is a boy in his and mine is a girl.
They both have a troubled childhood, and issues with their parents. They both have a close relationships with one of their siblings.
They have troubled childhoods, Holden, also they are stereotyped and told what they are supposed to do, but don't follow it or believe it. In my book, she is a Mormon, so she is different, just like the Jews, for she is also treated different and like she is wrong by some people.
#1. My partner Kirstin is reading “burned” by Ellen Hopkins
ReplyDelete#2. I would probably enjoy this book if I enjoyed reading, Sounds like a good story and seem to have a good “human experience”.
#3. Troubled childhood and a strong relationship with siblings are the two strongest things that seem to be similar.
#4.In my book (at least so far) there is a lot about having a troubled childhood wich relates to Holden in “Catcher in the rye”, He has a bad childhood and has a close relationship with his sibling and a bad relationship with his parents.

ReplyDelete-Shane is reading The Golden Compass.
-Probably not, mainly because I typically don’t like Fantasy books.
-There really aren’t very many similarities in our books except for the fact that the main characters in our books are both women.
-I think the human experience of loneliness is shown through pretty much every book we have read. Its shown in the book I am reading right now, Crank, because Kristina doesn't really have a certain person there for her when she needs them the most.

ReplyDeleteDelirium by Lauren Oliver , no i would not want to read the book because it sounds boring and it sounds weird.
similarities between our two books would be that both of the main characters are girls.
connections how there are the different themes like fighting for survival like in night.
Alex is reading Crank, I would probably like to read the book because it seems interesting. The main character in our books is a girl. In “More Than This” death was shown all through out the book because Seth was dead, in “Night” death is shown because every one is dead. In the “Golden Compass” and “Catcher In The Rye” the main characters have to deal with coming of age.

-That everybody goes through hard times, and the way you handle it is how it will affect you in the long run.
