Lessons, Understandings, Thoughts, etc. from Flight

When people read, they should take things away from their reading.  Maybe they have a different understanding of some aspect of the world from the plot or characters of the book.  Maybe they have gained knowledge of something that they had little knowledge of earlier.  Maybe they learned a lesson from the plot or the characters.  Whatever it may be, this is one of the reasons we read.  After discussing with your partner, please comment on this post with a list of the things that you think you have taken away from this book.  These could be lessons, ideas, knowledge, thoughts, understandings, etc.

  4. That things can get better if they work for it or a person decides to take you in and teach you. that everyone else has the same problems as you do and they feel the same way.

  6. I really cannot tell you how much I enjoyed this book. It had a variety of themes, lessons, and overall, a very good, solid book. I feel the main thing I take away from this is "You can never really know someone until you become them." This is very true, and Zits learned to feel and live as others, see their side of the story, their lives, and feel how they feel.
I also loved the way the book ended as well, how Zits didn't end up with his father was surprising, but it was for the better and I feel that can be taken into real life. Even if something sounds right, it isn't always right. This is true with Zits not ending up with his father, the way justice filled his head with ideas of terrorism, and many other examples.
I could go on and on, but another theme I really take away from Flight, even though it may be incredibly Cliché, is that you cannot judge a book by it's cover. I'm not just saying that, it really seems like a theme throughout the book and something I can really take away from it, having finished the book.

  10. It helps one Incorporated new ideas on how some people are effected differently by the same set of circumstances. That this is a perfect example of a horse of a different color. on could act negatively in the situation but what would that solve.

  11. I learned a little bit more about the battle of little big horn, how a person can be easily pursuaded to do bad things, and how being shown what happens because of poor choices can change the wayu you view things.

  12. I would have teken away bits and pieces of all the vilonence and so called "explicit" coontent that is portrayed throughout the book. I also would want to take out the fact that he is a foster child because in every book that has a foster child as the main character, they always make that child seem unnormal and messed up compared to everybody else. I also think that the swear words should have been kept to a minimum.

  13. Some of the things that I have taken away from this book are...
    - Realize some of the mistakes that you have made in the past and weather they are good or bad try to make up for them and just have a bigger understanding of you or that person has done.
-Everyone has a history weather it's good or bad.
    - Have a bigger understanding where people have come from and why they made the decisions they have made.
-correct yourself before doing something you may regret.
